Update #3, 8:33 p.m. PT: T-Mobile says it has “fully restored service for all customers and sincerely apologize for the difficulties to those who experienced network impacts.” Update #2, 4:15 p.m.PT: In a statement to 9to5Mac, a T-Mobile spokesperson said: “Our teams are actively working the reports of technical challenges impacting some customers. Any service impacts are in the process of being resolved and are our highest priority. We know how critical it is to stay connected, and every available resource is focused on resolving this as quickly as possible.” Update #1, 3 p.m. PT: Some T-Mobile users report that service is returning to their iPhones. Others, however, say the outage is ongoing. T-Mobile is down across the United States, and many iPhone users are seeing “SOS” in their device’s status bar. The outage appears to be widespread, with users across the United States reporting problems with their service. A thread on Reddit has amassed thousands of complaints from T-Mobile subscribers who say they are unable to place calls, send texts, and use cellular data on their devices. There are also thousands of complaints from T-Mobile users on other social networks. Several of us here at 9to5Mac are also impacted by the T-Mobile outage and are unable to use any cellular networking features on our iPhones. Liked by 2 people My iPhone was the only one out of four in my family that wasn't working. I was actively texting my wife, network went out at 3:21pm central in the STL greater area. Weird. I had also received a message about a "30 day 20GB Hotspot Data Pass expiring in 1 hour" at 8:33, then another saying it was then expired at 9:33. I didn't sign up for any such thing. When I went to my phone's Cellular Plan area during the outage, it said '20GB Hotspot Data Pass'. So I wonder if someone thought they were being clever and "just disabled the cancelled plans", but overwrote the cellular plans assigned to our devices.
