FDA aprobă tratamentul pentru boala renală de la Vera Therapeutics

Potrivit statnews.com, Administrația SUA pentru Alimente și Medicamente (FDA) a aprobat marți un nou medicament de la compania biotech Vera Therapeutics, destinat pacienților cu o formă de boală renală autoimună cronică. Medicamentul, numit Trutakna, a fost aprobat pentru tratarea nefropatiei IgA, o afecțiune cauzată de acumularea de anticorpi imuni în rinichi.

Trutakna vizează nefropatia IgA (IgAN), o afecțiune care duce la pierderea progresivă a funcției renale și, în cazuri severe, la insuficiență renală care necesită dializă. "Suntem extrem de încântați să aducem Trutakna pacienților", a declarat CEO-ul Vera, Marshall Fordyce, într-un interviu acordat înainte de aprobarea FDA.
